Precision Sheet Metal Fabrication Services
At Decimal Engineering, Inc., we provide precision sheet metal fabrication that can accommodate the needs of a wide range of industries and applications. We operate a well-equipped facility that is geared for complex bending, air bending, coining, CNC turret punching, louvering, embossing, laser cutting, certified welding and spot welding.
At the heart of our sheet metal fabrication service is a number of cutting edge bending systems that give us a distinct competitive advantage. Fast set-ups, offline programming, offline simulation and superb accuracy set us apart from our competition. Our Beyeler press brakes can provide bending of up to 9 axes of control allowing for unmatched versatility. Our Salvagini P2L-2520 automated panel bender, because of its innovative design, allows us to bend in one piece, configurations that would typically be formed in two pieces. The capabilities of these systems are further enhanced by the high precision they can achieve; depending on configuration, tolerances of ±0.005″ are common.
Due to the complex nature of these advanced manufacturing processes, we utilize a virtual manufacturing process that simulates each bend in sequence before any physical part is formed. Set-up for traditional bending can be very time-consuming and produce a great deal of scrap. Virtual manufacturing allows us to determine the best possible path, and ensures that we take full advantage of the powerful features that these advanced bending systems possess. These systems allow for forming of virtually any geometry in a single set-up, with times being less than 10 minutes in many cases. Basically, “First Piece is a Good Piece!”
We also operate quality systems that are as equally advanced as our fabrication equipment; one of these is our Virtek, a laser scanner. This cutting edge measuring machine allows us to inspect laser cut and CNC punched parts in a matter of minutes. Traditionally, quality control required the technician to manually dimensionally inspect each piece by hand. The Virtek not only eliminates this need, it also delivers consistency and reliability, economically ensuring zero defects.
Forming and bending are only one aspect of our sheet metal fabrication capabilities. We also provide welding, spot welding, brazing and soldering, all performed by highly trained certified welders. We specialize in PQR and WPS compliant welding; though these standards are mostly for the defense industry, our ability to provide conformity is a testament to our dedication to quality.
As a single source solution, our list of services includes a number of related processes that round our capabilities. These include fastener insertion, riveting, graining, tumbling, adhesive bonding and value added assembly. These can be combined with a myriad of finishing processes such as polishing, wet painting, powder coating and a variety of plating. If your project has a NADCAP requirement, we accommodate with certified finishing from one of our trusted suppliers that provide full process compliance. By offering high-quality services with a range of options, all backed by the most respected quality certifications, we have continued to grow through long-term customer relationships.
