Design & Engineering for Manufacturability Services
At Decimal Engineering, Inc., our team is responsible for ensuring that customers’ projects are made to exact specifications, delivered on schedule, and manufactured efficiently. Each step of a project, including design verification, detailed quote, and production, is overseen by experienced engineers. Every project begins with the customer design. We excel at providing design for manufacturability assistance to ensure that each part is produced in the most cost efficient manner to all specified tolerances. With the variety of manufacturing services at our disposal, value engineering is an essential component of the services we offer.
Most manufacturing processes performed at Decimal Engineering utilize CNC equipment; however, before any physical part is made, the complete manufacturing process is simulated. This virtual manufacturing process allows us to detect any potential collision errors or other challenges before material is wasted and tooling is damaged. This is an important vetting process with many strategic advantages. It allows us to easily accommodate variations in material properties and sizes. By simulating every step of manufacturing, our engineers can maximize the efficiency of processes such as machining, laser cutting, punching and forming–all of which have a direct effect on cost, quality, and lead time. To further ensure all projects hit their target deadline, we also utilize advanced ERP software throughout the plant.
As a forward-thinking organization, we are committed to maintaining a paperless environment. Most work cells are equipped with multiple monitors/workstations. This not only brings a higher level of efficiency to our day-to-day operations, it also allows for the seamless sharing of information. This means that the latest revision of a print is easily accessible and controlled. As an ISO 9001:2008 and AS9100C certified manufacturer, quality is built into our process. We are able to maintain this quality through a dedicated team of experienced engineers and an engaged workforce.
