Engineering & Machining of a Spray Shower Tester for the Environmental Protection Industry

Shower Head Tester

We are well known for our ability to take a project from prototype to production, with an emphasis on design for manufacturing (DFM). Our seasoned engineers are versed in producing complex parts with tight tolerances using CNC machining on a variety of thin, round, or curved surfaces at different angles and locations.

A local area customer in Sunrise, FL specializing in environmental protection required a spray shower tester part for scientific measuring. Our customer knew of our workmanship and quality, as well as our ability for DFM services. The part required solid brass with a diameter of 4.015″ x 1.473″ at +/− .002″ tolerances with a brushed finish. Each part contained over 120 holes at 0.019″ diameter, with the added challenge of machining these parts on rounded and curved surfaces.

Using our Mori Seiki NT3150 9-axis Mill/Turn machining system, we programed the unit to complete each part in a single operation. Matching the “head” to the mount required tight tolerances, as the thin curved surfaces were quite intricate. To confirm dimensional accuracy, our inspectors used a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM). We completed the project in less than 3 days and produced 40 units for the customer, who was extremely pleased with our work.

As a result, our new customer became a long-term partner with additional projects currently underway. Backed by our ISO compliance as well as IEC and GB national standards for quality control, we’ve built a reputation as a premier provider of high quality CNC machining services.
