Manufacturing process versatility is at the core of our ability to provide customers with a single source solution. At Decimal Engineering, Inc., part of this capability is high precision 2D and 3D laser cutting services. Laser cutting is a versatile process that allows for efficient cutting of parts at a range of production volumes.

Our CO2 laser has a maximum power output of 2,500 watts and a cutting table that can accommodate sheets up to 120" in length and 60" in width. Most any material, including ferrous and non-ferrous metals, as well as plastics, can be cut with an accuracy of ±0.005". The maximum allowable sheet thickness will vary depending on the material and ranges from 0.25" for aluminum to 0.75" for carbon steel. Features such as holes, slots, and other custom patterns can be cut on preformed parts utilizing our 3D laser cutting and contouring capabilities.

Our laser cutting process includes lights out manufacturing capabilities. The cutting table is equipped with automatic pallet loading and unloading capabilities, allowing for 24/7 operation without direct operator supervision. This automation lowers overhead costs and reduces manufacturing lead time. In addition to laser cutting, full CNC machining, precision sheet metal fabrication, finishing, value added assembly and inspection services are available. All operations are performed in accordance with our ISO 9001:2008 and AS9100C certified quality program.

Additional finishing such as precision grinding, polishing, wet painting, powder coating, and a variety of plating can also be provided.
