Wire EDM Machining of Cross Pendants for the Jewelry Industry

A local area vendor of pendants, rings, and bracelets, required the manufacture of titanium and silver cross pendants with an overall part dimension of 0.125" thick x 0.5" x 0.75" at tolerances of +/− 0.0005" in one pass (+/- 0.0001" with multiple passes).The cross design possessed extremely small details that could only be accomplished using complex precision manufacturing. With Wire Electronic Discharge Machining (Wire EDM) using our Mitsubishi FX10, we are now producing 2000 units annually with a standard delivery time of one week (a few days if expedited). In order to maximize material yields for the customer, our team provided all layout engineering necessary to reduce production costs. By stacking materials together, wall to wall parts were made at the same time while producing small details at high precision.
